About UHC
Dan Kastilahn
Treasurer
Dan Kastilahn works in the commercial real estate industry, specifically commercial mortgage-backed securities, as an analyst for a bond rating agency. Dan got his “green” thumb while enrolled in an Environmental Management course at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dan returned home to Chicago to get his Masters in Environmental Management & Enterprise at IIT’s Stuart School of Business under Dr. George Nassos.
Before working in finance, Dan interned at the City of Chicago’s Department of Environment, primarily in the Permitting and Enforcement division and in collaboration with Streets and Sanitation on the city’s recycling programs. Dan is a green building advocate who brings a financial perspective to the issue.
Dan is a desk jockey by day who loves getting his hands dirty with UHC by night. He nearly fell off the roof during the Kikuchi House deconstruction, cut open his foot making cob balls for a bench, and gashed his own forehead while removing nails from roof boards. He hopes to have another near-death experience again soon on one of UHC’s many upcoming projects.
