Serving as UHC’s Web Manager, Breena Ferguson, is heading the task of web site updates and organization.

Breena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the School of Fine Arts at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Through working with Professor Thomas Dutton in his Over-the-Rhine Design/Build Studio in 1996 she worked on a community advocacy art project to prioritize the struggles of a city’s often overlooked members. Professor Dutton’s leadership and the students’ work with him on an agit-prop art installation were highlighted in Architectural Record’s Teaching by Example article in October 2008.

She is on the cusp of receiving approval to begin taking her Architectural Registration Exams and is a LEED Accredited Professional. She has worked in health care design in Denver, Colorado, and while in Chicago has worked with many local educational institutions on their projects large and small. She currently works in restaurant and retail design.

Her other non-profit involvement includes design work for Freedom by Design in Denver, Colorado (2001), Architecture for Humanity Chicago (2004-2005), and is currently involved in event promotions for the USGBC through the Chicago Chapter.

Breena was an improv student at the Second City Training Center (2003-2004), Piven Theatre (2004), and Annoyance Theatre (2007).
