About UHC
Jennifer Pierce
Jennifer Pierce was one of the original co-founders of what soon came to be known as Urban Habitat Chicago, milling around the Chicago Center for Green Technology with the rest of us in 2004, where she served on the Department of the Environment staff.
Jennifer devoted considerable time and effort to our growing organization, serving as UHC’s President from 2005-2006, and participating in projects which included the Lawndale Carriage House adaptive reuse, materials research, and the Atsushi Kikuchi House deconstruction.
Jennifer is currently a Permaculture Design Certified architect interested in the application of permaculture principles into urban areas and public spaces with experience in green public and institutional buildings such as schools, community centers, wildlife rehabilitation centers, health clinics, train stations, fire stations, bike paths and community plans.
