Vegetated wallbag v.1

Before the Colts battled the Bears this Super Bowl Sunday, UHC used found materials to put together a simple vegetated wallbag (version 1).

A geotextile fabric layer provides support for plants growing in pockets in plastic sheeting with lightweight growing media.

The advantages of such a system include:
1. Localized air purification and wastewater utilization
2. Closed-loop system with very little water input and minimal water loss
3. Small spatial footprint allowing for large quantities per square foot of growing space
4. Reuse of salvaged materials from a local source

The actual system will be available through Repkin Biosystems in April 2007 (and will look slightly more elegant).
