Saturday, March 10, 2012 · 9:30 AM
As temperatures begin to rise and sunlight availability increases, Chicagoans start to feel the need to plant. This course will empower students to create growing spaces, manage seedlings, grow soil and moderate temperatures. A special emphasis will be placed on creating an annual plan to maximize productivity. This series is geared to help the experienced grower get a successful headstart on the growing season in the challenging conditions of early spring.
Instructor Mike Repkin has 25 years of growing experience, from the Midwest to the Bahamas. He has a background in microbiology from Walter Reed MIlitary Medical Center, and has lectured extensively on environmental topics and human life support - the art and science of restoring a habitable planet.
