For the 2nd year, UHC will participate in PARKing Day 2010

PARKing Day is an annual, worldwide event that inspires city dwellers everywhere to transform metered parking spots into temporary parks for the public good.

WHERE: (in front of) Revolution Brewing, 2323 N Milwaukee Ave (see map above)
WHEN: Friday, September 17, 2010
TIME: 10:00AM - ?? (Times may change..stay tuned)

We hope you’ll visit UHC at our parking stall and participate in public park creation, transforming our urban hardscape into a lush, green place fit to lounge in all day.

Rendering by Nicholas Petty

Help UHC build our parking stall oasis with snapshots of how YOU bring greenspace into your life and a short description of what it means to you. Some examples could be: the hanging plant on your front stoop which you’ve watered and talked to everyday, your route to work through the local park (because you like to start your day smelling the flowers and looking for butterflies), or the view from your office window and how you’ve managed to connect to the natural world even though you’re inside all day……get creative! The goal is to share with other urbanites how you connect yourself to the natural world….we will accept (in digital format) snapshots, diagrams, paintings, or sketches of what you just sketched on your Etch-A-Sketch.

OR BETTER YET, loan us your favorite house plant for a day! Email Breena Ferguson. and let her know what you’d like to loan us for the day and work out the details with her.

If you’d like to submit just photos and descriptions, please email to Breena Ferguson. We’ll include the representation of your oasis in our collective oasis on Friday, September 17, 2010!

Check out how UHC participated last year!
