Students at Price Elementary School have been busy cultivating fresh grown vegetables to be used for classes with the Cooking Matters program. Arugula and radishes came up nicely followed by lettuce and turnips for a full fall bouquet.

UHC has helped create gardening programs for Cooking Matters at five different underserved youth sites across Chicago. Work has included consultation, planting bed construction, and gardening instruction. Cooking Matters provides free nutrition and cooking instruction to families in poverty.
