Join our Lead in Soil Screening Event

You are invited to a free soil health and lead screening event at the UIC Greenhouse on October 25, 2025. This community engagement event offers local residents the chance to have their soil tested for lead. Bring a sample from your yard or garden and join us in conversation about soil health. The event is open to all ages. For more information, please email soil@auachicago.org.
The Greenhouse (Plant Research Laboratory) is located at 1020 S Union Ave, Chicago IL 60607. There is a parking space in the lawn along the driveway. There is also a pedestrian entrance on Taylor Street at Halsted Ave and the Halsted Blue Line stop is a 15 minute walk.
Restroom is available onsite, unfortunately it is not ADA accessible. Interpretation available upon request.

Hay estacionamiento disponible en el área verde junto al camino de entrada.
También hay una entrada peatonal sobre la calle Taylor, en la esquina con Halsted Ave, y la estación Halsted de la línea azul está a 15 minutos caminando.
Hay baño disponible en el sitio, pero lamentablemente no es accesible para personas con discapacidad.
